WAYS TO GIVE

Thank you for your interest in supporting The Saint Louis Black Repertory Company. Tickets sales each year cover just 30% of our annual operating expenses, so we rely on the generosity of our community of donors to sustain our annual programs.

We have missed you and look forward to seeing you at the theatre!

The Black Rep

Gala Concert

The St. Louis Black Repertory Company will host their annual Gala featuring The Spelman College Glee Club at 7pm on Saturday, November 9 at the 560 Music Center. Co-chaired by Vito and Adrian Bracy and Everett and Amy Johnson, proceeds from the Gala support The Black Rep's Education and Community Programs designed to address gaps facing low- and moderate-income African-American students and their families: Access to education by helping to meet the needs of schools for arts programming and creating opportunities by addressing a pressing need for more diversity in the local artistic community and the field at large.

The Frankie Muse Freeman Giving Guild

This initiative fulfills Attorney Frankie Muse Freeman’s wish that the St. Louis Black Repertory Company (The Black Rep) be supported at the highest levels of the community. Through all of her work, Ms. Muse Freeman reminds us that we must never forget the struggles of Black people and we must ALL work together to overcome them; no matter if we are working for civil rights, education or the arts.

Gifts of $1,000 or more are recognized. Join a visionary group of generous supporters who have committed to helping The Black Rep accomplish its most ambitious goals.

“I think that everybody has an individual responsibility to make the world better, to make the community better. As long as we’re living, we have a responsibility to keep active and do what we can.” – Frankie Freeman

Rosalyn Madden Put A Child In A Seat

Bringing theatre experiences to the young people of the community is the main focus of the Rosalyn Madden Put A Child In A Seat Fundraising Campaign. Your $15.00 donation will Put A Child In A Seat.

Vivian Crane Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Vivian Mae Crane Memorial Scholarship Fund is committed to encouraging and supporting young artists’ creative expression and artistic development. Contributions to the fund honor the legacy of a graceful and gracious woman while inspiring the next generation of artists.

Vivian Crane (August 19, 1921 – February 16, 2006) was affectionately known as the “Mother of The Black Rep.” Mrs. Crane was an opening night fixture, stabilizing figure and nurturing matriarch to cast, crew and staff since the company’s inception. It is unlikely that The Black Rep would have made it one day if its founder had not had the love, support, and total belief of Mrs. Crane, his mother.

Sophisticated Ladies

Committed to the yearly underwriting of a main stage performance written by a woman of color, The Sophisticated Ladies Giving Initiative provides support to The Black Rep and Black women play-wrights.  For questions please contact Christina Yancy, Development Associate, christinay@theblackrep.org.
