Acting Scene Study: Shakespeare

This class focuses on bringing Shakespeare’s text to life through in-depth scene work and personalized acting techniques. Students will explore the nuances of Shakespearean language, verse, and prose, while developing tools for interpreting character, emotion, and action. Emphasis will be placed on connecting the voice and body to thought and action, and clarity of storytelling. Through guided rehearsals and feedback, participants will deepen their connection to Shakespeare’s timeless works and unlock the power of their own performances. Perfect for actors of all levels seeking to enhance their skills in classical theatre.
Theatre for Young Actors:
Exploration of the performing arts through acting styles, stage skills, scene work, theatre games, music and dance techniques. Classes emphasize development of drama and performing skills, as well as stretching their imagination and cognitive skills. Through exploration in class, students will gain skills for the stage as well as a chance to broaden their horizon of everyday skills such as confidence, critical thinking and social skills.

THE BLACK REP STEP
The Black Rep Step will explore the movement of step to develop the knowledge and aspects of step dance. The ensemble will also develop skills including team building, vocal technique, and performance.
